Usage Note
Pescador refers to someone who fishes, whether professionally or recreationally. The feminine form is pescadora. It should not be confused with pescado (fish as food) or pez (a live fish) — the shared root can mislead beginners. A fishing rod is caña de pescar and the act is pescar.
Examples
"El pescador salió al mar antes del amanecer."
Natural Translation
The fisherman went out to sea before dawn.
