Usage Note

Perjuicio most often appears in the legal phrase daños y perjuicios (damages and losses). It is also used in the fixed phrase sin perjuicio de meaning 'without prejudice to' or 'notwithstanding.' Do not confuse it with prejuicio (prejudice, bias) — the presence or absence of the prefix pre- entirely changes the meaning.
