Usage Note

Ocasionalmente indicates that something happens on certain occasions but not regularly. It is slightly more formal than a veces (sometimes) or de vez en cuando (from time to time) and is common in written and professional registers. It is not synonymous with raramente (rarely), which implies low frequency; ocasionalmente simply means 'not on a fixed schedule'.
