notable

adjective noh-TAH-bleh Less Common

Also means

remarkable

Usage Note

Notable is a false cognate trap for some learners: in Spain's grading system, notable is a specific grade equivalent to 'B' or 'good' (roughly 7–8.9 out of 10), not the top mark. It is invariable in gender: un avance notable, una mejora notable.

Examples

"Hizo un progreso notable en muy poco tiempo."

Natural Translation

She made notable progress in very little time.
