matricular
to register, to enrol
verb mah-tree-koo-LAHR Rare
Origin: From Latin matricula (list, register).
Usage Note
Matricular is a regular -ar verb often used reflexively: matricularse en un curso ('to enrol in a course'). The related noun matrícula means both 'enrolment' and 'licence plate' in Spain, so context is important. In Latin America the licence-plate sense is less associated with matrícula — placa is more common.
Examples
"Me voy a matricular en el curso de inglés."
Natural Translation
I am going to enrol in the English course.
