Usage Note
Acreditación refers to the official recognition that a person, institution, or programme meets a set of standards: acreditación universitaria (university accreditation) or acreditación de prensa (press credential). The verb is acreditar. It differs from certificación (certification), which tends to be product- or skill-based rather than institutional.
