Usage Note

Mampostería refers to construction using stones, bricks, or blocks bound with mortar — essentially the craft and product of a mampostero (mason). It is a technical term in architecture and civil engineering. Mampostería en seco ('dry-stone walling') uses no mortar at all; mampostería concertada involves carefully fitted stones.
