kurdo

Kurdish

adjective KOOR-doh Less Common

Also means

Kurd

Usage Note

Kurdo describes anything relating to the Kurdish people, language, or culture. It also functions as a noun: un kurdo / una kurda ('a Kurd'). The Kurdish language is referred to as el kurdo or el idioma kurdo. Kurds are one of the world's largest ethnic groups without a sovereign internationally recognised state, which gives the word a politically charged context.

Examples

"El pueblo kurdo lucha por sus derechos culturales."

Natural Translation

The Kurdish people fight for their cultural rights.
