Usage Note

Jurado refers both to the jury as a collective body (el jurado decidió el veredicto) and to an individual juror (un miembro del jurado). It also applies to contest panels: el jurado del festival (the festival jury). The same word, used as a past participle, means 'sworn': declaración jurada (sworn statement).
