Usage Note

Inusual is the standard formal adjective for 'unusual' and does not change for gender (un caso inusual / una situación inusual). Its close synonym insólito carries a stronger sense of 'unheard-of' or 'extraordinary'. Poco habitual is a common informal paraphrase. Not to be confused with ilusual (not a word).
