Usage Note
Importantísimo is the absolute superlative of importante, formed with the suffix -ísimo. It intensifies rather than compares, equivalent to 'most important' or 'critically important'. This suffix is productive in Spanish: grandísimo, rapidísimo, etc. Unlike English superlatives, it does not require a noun group.
