Usage Note
Igual is invariable for gender and can modify nouns (salario igual, 'equal salary') or follow ser/estar (son iguales, 'they are equal'). The colloquial phrase me es igual or igual da means 'it makes no difference to me'. As an adverb, igual can mean 'maybe' in informal Spain: igual llueve mañana ('it might rain tomorrow').
