Horror functions both as an uncountable abstract (el horror de la guerra) and a countable noun for something horrifying (un horror). In informal speech, ¡qué horror! is an exclamation of dismay (roughly 'how awful!'). The compound película de horror (or de terror) means 'horror film'; both prepositions are used, but terror is more common in film titles.
