history

Usage Note

Historial is a documented record of someone's or something's past — historial médico (medical history/records), historial delictivo (criminal record), historial laboral (work history). It is always a compilation over time, not a single event. Do not confuse it with historia (history as a narrative or academic subject) — historial is always a personal or institutional file.

Examples

"El médico revisó su historial clínico antes de la consulta."

Natural Translation

The doctor reviewed his medical record before the appointment.
