brotherhood

Also means

sisterhood, fraternity

Usage Note

Hermandad denotes a bond of brotherhood or a formal organisation based on that bond — religious confraternities (hermandades in Semana Santa processions) are a classic example. It is gender-neutral in its abstract sense; a hermandad can consist of men, women, or both. The related word fraternidad leans more secular.

Natural Translation

The brotherhood paraded through the streets of Seville.
