Guatemalteco is both the noun ('a Guatemalan') and the adjective ('Guatemalan'): un guatemalteco, la cocina guatemalteca. The feminine is guatemalteca. Guatemala takes its name from a Nahuatl word meaning roughly 'place of many trees.' Citizens also use chapín/chapina as a colloquial demonym among themselves.
