Usage Note
Grillo refers to the chirping insect. In the plural, grillos also means 'shackles' or 'fetters', completely unrelated to the insect. The idiom olla de grillos ('pot of crickets') describes a chaotic, noisy, disorderly situation in which everyone talks at once.
