Grato conveys a refined sense of pleasantness or gratitude, common in formal and written Spanish (es grato comunicarle = 'it is our pleasure to inform you'). It is more elevated than agradable. The feminine is grata; the adverb is gratamente. It shares its root with gratitud and gratuito.
