Usage Note

Granjero specifically refers to a farm owner or farmer who works a granja (farm, especially a livestock farm). It is more specific than agricultor, which covers all crop farmers. The feminine is granjera. In Latin America campesino is the broader, more common word for a rural farmer or peasant.
