Fuga covers a prison break (fuga de la cárcel), a gas or water leak (fuga de gas), a brain-drain (fuga de cerebros), and the musical form fuga (fugue). The verb is fugarse (reflexive): se fugó de la cárcel. The phrase darse a la fuga ('to flee the scene') is very common in news reporting.
