Fuertemente is the adverb from fuerte ('strong') and covers physical force (golpeó fuertemente, 'hit hard'), emotional intensity (afectó fuertemente, 'affected deeply'), and weather (llueve fuertemente, 'it is raining heavily'). Spanish -mente adverbs are always stressed on the base adjective's stressed syllable AND on -men-, giving two rhythmic beats.
