fictional
Usage Note
Ficticio describes something invented or not real: un personaje ficticio ('a fictional character'), una empresa ficticia ('a fictitious company'). It is slightly more formal than inventado or falso. The word is a near-cognate of English 'fictitious', but note the Spanish stress falls on the penultimate syllable — ficTIcio not FICTicio.
