Also means
agitated
Usage Note
Excitado is a partial false friend: in Spain and Latin America it primarily means 'aroused' (sexually) or 'worked up / agitated', and using it to mean simply 'excited/thrilled' (as in English) can sound unintentionally suggestive. To say you are excited about an event, use emocionado or entusiasmado instead. The feminine form is excitada.
Examples
"El público estaba excitado antes del partido."
Natural Translation
The crowd was worked up before the match.
