Estrellato is derived from estrella (star) and denotes the status or world of being a star — alcanzar el estrellato (to reach stardom) is the fixed phrase. It is used in entertainment contexts (cinema, music, sport) and is always masculine. The diminutive estrellita (little star) is a term of endearment unrelated to this sense.
