Usage Note

Entusiasta is one of the adjectives that does NOT change for gender — the same form is used before masculine and feminine nouns: un alumno entusiasta, una alumna entusiasta. It can also function as a noun: un entusiasta del jazz (a jazz enthusiast). Derived from entusiasmo, which comes from Greek enthousiasmos (divine inspiration). The plural is entusiastas.
