Usage Note
Engaño is a deliberate deception or fraud; the related verb is engañar ('to deceive'). In law, engaño often forms part of the definition of estafa ('fraud'). Do not confuse with error ('mistake'), which lacks the intent: engaño is always willful.
Examples
"El contrato era un puro engaño."
Natural Translation
The contract was pure deception.
