Usage Note
Diócesis is an invariable noun — the plural is also diócesis (no change). It denotes the territorial ecclesiastical unit under a bishop's authority. The corresponding adjective is diocesano/a. Do not confuse with parroquia (parish), which is the smaller unit within a diocese.
