Usage Note
Dios is capitalised when referring to the God of monotheistic religions and lowercase (dios) for pagan deities. The exclamation ¡Dios mío! ('My God!') is ubiquitous in everyday speech and rarely carries strong religious intent. The feminine form diosa means 'goddess'.
