dificilísimo

extremely difficult

adjective dee-fee-see-LEE-see-moh Rare

Usage Note

Dificilísimo is the absolute superlative of difícil, formed with the suffix -ísimo, intensifying to 'extremely' or 'incredibly difficult'. Note that the written accent on difícil shifts in the superlative: dificilísimo, stressing the third-to-last syllable of the new, longer form. It is never comparative — use más difícil for comparisons.

Examples

"El examen fue dificilísimo para todos."

Natural Translation

The exam was extremely difficult for everyone.
