Usage Note
Deseable is formed with the suffix -able on the stem of desear (to desire) and means worthy of being desired — applied to traits, outcomes, or situations. It is a neutral, slightly formal adjective; in everyday speech ideal or bueno is more common. Its opposite is indeseable, which also means 'undesirable person' (a stronger, sometimes derogatory register).

"La experiencia previa es deseable pero no obligatoria."
Natural Translation
Previous experience is desirable but not mandatory.
