descrito

described

adjective des-KREE-toh Rare

Usage Note

Descrito is the irregular past participle of describir (not describido, which is wrong). Used as an adjective it agrees in gender and number: descrita, descritos, descritas. A common learner error is to regularise the participle; descrito follows the same irregularity pattern as escrito (from escribir). In formal prose it typically follows its noun: el procedimiento descrito anteriormente.
