Usage Note

Deprimente describes something that causes low spirits or gloom — a situation, place, or piece of news. Unlike depresivo (relating to clinical depression as a condition), deprimente simply expresses that something has a dispiriting effect. It is invariable in gender and its plural is deprimentes.
