denuncia
complaint
noun deh-NOON-syah Less Common
Origin: From Latin denuntiare (to declare, announce officially).
Also means
formal report
Usage Note
Denuncia primarily means a formal complaint or report made to the police or authorities — poner una denuncia (to file a complaint/report) is the standard collocation. It is not the same as queja, which is an informal complaint to a business or service. Denunciar is the verb; denunciante is the person filing. In journalism, denuncia can also mean a public denunciation or exposé of wrongdoing.
Examples
"Presentó una denuncia ante la policía."
Natural Translation
She filed a complaint with the police.

Presented a complaint before the police
