Usage Note
Decepción is a false friend: it primarily means 'disappointment', not 'deception' (which is engaño). Use it when an expectation is not met: llevarse una decepción means to be let down. The verb form is decepcionar.
Examples
"La película fue una gran decepción."
Natural Translation
The film was a huge disappointment.
