Controlador covers several professional roles: controlador aéreo ('air traffic controller') is the most recognisable compound, but the word also applies to financial controllers and system administrators in IT. The feminine is controladora. In computing, controlador is also the standard translation of hardware 'controller' (e.g. controlador de red, 'network controller').
