Usage Note

Contradecir follows the same irregular conjugation as decir: present contradigo, contradices; preterite contradije; imperative contradice (tú). The reflexive contradecirse means to contradict oneself. It is stronger and more direct than desmentir (to deny) or refutar (to refute).
