Usage Note

Breve is invariable in gender — un breve descanso and una breve pausa both use the same form. The adverb en breve means 'shortly' or 'soon', and is very common in formal speech and broadcasts. Do not confuse with the English false friend 'brave' (valiente in Spanish).
