Usage Note

Bicameral describes a legislature with two chambers, such as a senate and a lower house. Spain's parliament (the Cortes Generales) is bicameral, comprising the Congreso de los Diputados and the Senado. The word does not change for gender: el sistema bicameral, la estructura bicameral.
