Baja has two very common meanings: a fall or drop in quantity (una baja en las ventas) and a medical or administrative leave of absence (estar de baja = to be on sick leave). The phrase darse de baja means to unsubscribe or cancel a membership, while dar de baja is to deregister or discharge someone.
