Autocomplacencia is built from auto- (self) plus complacencia (satisfaction, indulgence). It denotes an uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one's work, often to the detriment of improvement. The adjective is autocomplaciente. In political and business discourse it is consistently used as a criticism: caer en la autocomplacencia (to fall into complacency).
