Asignado is used in administrative, educational, and work contexts to indicate that a role, task, or resource has been formally allocated. The phrase asignado a (assigned to) is the standard collocation. In some Latin American varieties, the feminine asignada appears in HR contexts meaning 'designated allowance' (asignación familiar).
