Usage Note

Antojar is almost always used reflexively as antojarse: se me antoja un helado (I feel like an ice cream). The construction mirrors gustar — the thing craved is the subject and the person is the indirect object. In Latin America antojarse can also mean to suspect or imagine something (often mistakenly), giving it an extra layer of meaning absent in Spain.
