Usage Note

Anegado is the past participle of anegar (to flood, to inundate) used as an adjective. It describes land, a road, or a basement that has been submerged in water. The verb anegar derives from Latin enegare (to drown), and the adjective agrees in gender and number: zona anegada, campos anegados.
