Usage Note
Alegremente is formed from alegre (cheerful) + -mente. It describes manner, often modifying verbs of motion, singing, or greeting (cantaba alegremente, she sang cheerfully). In formal writing it appears mid-sentence; in speech con alegría is a common spoken equivalent. When coordinated with another -mente adverb, the suffix is dropped from all but the last.
Examples
"Los niños jugaban alegremente en el parque."
Natural Translation
The children were playing cheerfully in the park.
