Also means
sole
Usage Note
Único before the noun (el único problema) means 'the only one,' while after the noun it means 'unique' in quality (una pieza única). Like other adjectives ending in -o, it has a feminine form única. The phrase hijo único / hija única means 'only child.' Do not confuse with solo (alone), though both can translate as 'only' in certain contexts.
Examples
"Es la única solución posible."
Natural Translation
It is the only possible solution.
