Usage Note
Zumbar describes the buzzing or humming sound of insects, machines, or anything vibrating rapidly — las abejas zumban (bees buzz), los oídos me zumban (my ears are ringing). The noun zumbido means a buzz, hum, or ringing sound. In colloquial Latin American Spanish, zumbar can also mean to throw something hard or to hit someone.
