Usage Note

Zanjado is the past participle of zanjar (to resolve, to cut through a dispute) used as an adjective. Zanjar literally means to dig a trench (zanja) but metaphorically means to cut through a problem decisively. Asunto zanjado ('matter settled') is a common fixed phrase used to close a discussion. It is not used for physical things being 'settled' (like sediment); use depositado or asentado for that.
