Acosar covers harassment in both physical and psychological senses: acosar sexualmente (to sexually harass), acosar a alguien (to hound or pester someone). The derived noun acoso (harassment) and compound acoso escolar (school bullying) are very frequent in Spanish media. Do not confuse with acercarse (to approach).
