Usage Note

Visitante is a common-gender noun: el visitante / la visitante. In sports, el equipo visitante (the visiting team / the away team) is a standard collocation. Tourism statistics use número de visitantes (number of visitors). The related noun visita refers to the visit itself, not the person.
