venomous
Usage Note
Venenoso describes any organism or substance that is toxic or poisonous. In strict technical usage Spanish distinguishes venenoso (poisonous — harmful when ingested or touched) from ponzoñoso (venomous — injecting toxin by bite or sting), though in everyday speech venenoso covers both. Una serpiente venenosa is the natural collocation.
Examples
"La rana es venenosa para sus depredadores."
Natural Translation
The frog is poisonous to its predators.
